A Giveaway in hopes of Spring!

Hello hello-- ok I don't know what I did to my laptop but thank goodness for children who can fix them. I couldn't get anything to work yesterday so I didn't do a sampler for Sunday but I will catch up this week. In the meantime, I want to show the goodies for my giveaway. (proper ooohhhinnggg and aaahhhing are apprecitated - LOL)

Here is a brand new big bright pincushion. From the comments this one was a favorite, I think because it is colorful and we all need some color in our lives during the gray rainy days right now. Isn't the button stack cute? Polka dots and flowers - I found it at Michaels and need to go back and buy another for me. Additionally there is a cute pair of scissors. The tag says Embroidery Angels from Bella Blue. They're about 4" long and nice and sharp. This little angel comes in hot pink with hearts. And to round out the package a bar of Ghirardelli - dark chocolate with raspberry filling. Now we all know that dark chocolate is full of antioxidants and raspberries have fiber and vitamins so this is practically health food we're talking about, right???(Don't bother to set me straight, I chose to look reality directly in the face and ignore it. Life is better that way, IMHO.)

So here's a close up of the pincushion. It about 6" across.

And this is my new pincushion. I really like it.

I have different kinds of pins in each of 5 sections. There are flat head pins, and glass head pins, and thin pins and fork pins and needles. I like having them separate but all together since I use different pins for different tasks. I left the yellow section empty and this makes it easy grab it without sticking myself (ask me how I know about that)

So if you'd like to be entered in the giveaway leave me a comment at the end of this post. If you mention it on your blog, let me know and I'll put your name in twice. I will run this giveaway till this coming Saturday night - March 12 - and I'll post the winner on Sunday March 13, which is the actual day the time changes. I got my info from the 5 ranked tv station in a 4 station market. Hey they aren't the most accurate but the news comes on early and I like that. Sooooooo.... to make the time change a little more tolerable I will send this package off to the winner. I know it doesn't make up for losing an hour of sleep but it the best I can do.

Hope your week is productive!
Happy stitching-
carol fun

  11. I love that pin cushion. I was just reading about using something like that to keep your hand sewing needles sorted using the sections. Such a clever idea.

I am in full agreement about the Chocolate. You didn't mention that chocolate is made from beams so it counts as a vegetable too, right? yeah, sure I am right. At least that is the way I play it.

  23. What a lovely giveaway. I really need something bright to bring some sunshine to this snowy frozen land. It has snowed all day today and I am SO sick of "that white stuff". The scissors are so cute and I love raspberry and chocolate. My favorite combination! I can hardly believe it's time for daylight savings time to start--I hope some sunshine and warmer weather comes with it.

  27. what a beautiful pin cushion. And the chocolate looks yummy too. I adore chocolate with a bit of fruit flavor. when I lived in AZ we never changed time. It's been (many) years, but I still have a hard time getting used to the whole 'changing the clocks' thing!
    Cheers,
