Slow Stitching on Sunday

Right now the sun is streaming through the windows of my house and I have my butt firmly planted in my stitching chair -- a perfect way to spend my afternoon! I am still plugging away on my Blackbird Designs Anniversaries of the Heart and it is sooooo close!

This is the last section -

I worked on that little blue house this week and it required some re-stitching as construction was underway. I ended up changing the color of the house to Gentle Arts Dungarees which didn't have enough contrast with the Tin Bucket I has used for the roof, so then I had to tear it off and re-roofed with Aged Pewter. It is just like real construction - one step forward and two steps back. I told myself I would finish this one before the end of the year and it is doable if I just keep at it. I have been tempted to start several new pieces and so far I've resisted but I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out -- so many cute pieces I can't wait to stitch!

Hope you are having a slow Sunday -
happy stitching!

  1. After this past year, you certainly understand construction delays! This stitch piece is really going to be spectacular! Do you have an empty wall where this is going?

  5. I have no doubt that you can finish this by the end of the year! It's a beautiful project, one I am working on too (I'm on November). I just found your blog today on someone's sidebar. I knit, quilt and stitch too!

  9. You are SO close Carol. I like your housing modifications too. I meant to comment earlier on how much I enjoyed your tour of your Craft Room. Everything is well organized, the storage shelves with your fabrics are so pretty, and you have plenty of room to leave out a large work in progress if needed. Oh, and your chicken decorations a the perfect touch!
