I'm not as old as the Star-Spangled Banner!

I am NOT as old as the Star-Spangled Banner - it is celebrating its 200th birthday - but it is my birthday too! I don't think we need to go into how old I am, now do we? Old enough to know better but don't really care!

So to celebrate my birthday I want to give you a gift - a $25 gift certificate to the crafty store of your choice- fabric, yarn, cross stitch, paper - whatever! Leave me a comment and tell me what age do you think is the perfect age to be- it doesn't have to be the age you are now, but it could be. I figure the best age to be is at least 5 years older than I am now - wanna plan that future -LOL!

If you have problems leaving a comment on this post,  you can email me at CFUN53@gmail.com. No matter how you leave a comment be sure I have an email to contact you at - if you are on Google + please put your email in the comment as I can't for the life of me figure out how to get back to you.

I will leave this giveaway open until Friday September 19th at 11:59 pm. I will put all your names in a hat or some other receptacle and pick one randomly and announce the winner on Saturday September 20.

happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear Polka Dot Chicken, happy birthday to me!

  4. Sending special Happy Birthday wishes to you! No matter what number you are, I'm betting you're just a spring chicken. I figure the perfect age is the age you are at the moment because there's new adventure in every day. Can't change the past, can't change the future, but I can sure as heck make today fun! Hope you're being spoiled!

  5. First, a very Happy Birthday to you!! What a generous gift! Now about the age, I'm going to say just a bit younger than I am now,I love my life right now but I do have more arthritis than I would like, so I just have to go a bit younger just to get rid of that.

  6. I'll play along b/c I need some linen to start my hallow day inn piece. :)

I think the "sevens" are good years (7, 17, 27, 37, etc) they seem lucky! And if one stinks you can turn your eyes to the next!

Very Happy birthday week to you. :D

  10. Happy Birthday girl! For me, the perfect age is early 50's. Young enough to enjoy your life without the heavy responsibility of youth and young enough to have good health. The adventures my DH and I had when we retired and began travelling are priceless.

  11. Happy Birthday my friend....although
I suspect that it was really yesterday. (9/14....bloglovin' gets to me a day late). I hope it was filled with all the things you love.

As to the perfect age....I'd say any age is good so long as you are surrounded by people you love and projects to keep your mind active.

  12. Happy Birthday Dear Polka Dot Chicken! We watched a lovely celebration from Baltimore for the Star Spangled Banner, and they didn't even mention your name! I think the perfect age was probably around 45 or so. Older isn't always better.

  14. That is a catchy song! Happy happy birthday to you :). Hmm, best age to be...I have fond memories of times in my teens, twenties, thirties, and forties, but I think the best age is always the one I am! Thanks for the chance to win.

  15. Happy Birthday Polka Dot Chicken...and your other "self" Carol. I hope your special day was filled with the things that make you happy. I think my perfect age will be 80. I'm planning on being a happy, healthy, active and free spirited 80 year! There's something about 80 that just sounds right. :)

  16. The happiest of birthdays to you! What a great question. I think my college years may have been my favorite "age." No worries. Everyday was all about learning something new. I was always surrounded by friends.

  18. I'd say the 50's--children are grown, successful on their own, grandchildren on the way, and I still had some energy!

  19. Happy Birthday Carol! I'm not sure what age I'd want to be. I'm pretty happy in my late 30's right now but wish I could re-do some things...like college major and job placement! Hope you celebrate in style!
