7 down 1 to go...

sooooo close to being finished.... can't wait to be done with this one so I can start something new ...guilt free... not that I haven't thought of starting something and saying the hell with the guilt...LOL!

This is Fragments in Time by Summer House Stitche Workes. I have one more square to do and I need to finish up the little flowers in the border on the left hand side. I think this is an elegant sampler and it will look so pretty when it is finished and framed.

I've been mulling over what I want to stitch after this is complete... I have been receiving the monthly installments of  the latest Blackbird Designs Garden Club... you can see all the ones that have been released here.   I think I've decided on a layout of 4 across and 3 down on one cut of linen.... however I'm not sure I want to start until I've got ALL of the charts in case I want to rearrange the order...and I probably do. So maybe that's not the one to start.

And I'm waiting for the embellishment and threads for this sampler....

This is very different from any sampler I've stitched ... I like that all the letters are different colors and fonts and I like the bands of stitching on the bottom.  This is a possibility...

And then I think I have everything I need to start this one... Sampler Hill by With Thy Needle and Thread...

I love how the alphabet is contained in the hill ... and I might make that house a bit more yellow... got to look at what I stuffed into a plastic bag.

And then there is Spring Farmhouse by Notforgotten Farms...

which already has a yellow house and may have a few stitches in the linen ...even though I told myself I wouldn't start anything before I finished Fragments in Time... the biggest lie I tell myself next to "I'll remember that" is "I'm going to finish what I'm working on before I start something new"... I lie to myself... A LOT...

So I have lots of options for my next big start... we will see what the week brings. I already have at least one appointment for this or that every day this week...ugh...I just want to stay home!!!

And on the home front my roses are looking good...

this is one bush... it is at least 5 feet wide and 3 feet tall and as you can see covered with blooms. The only thing I've done to it is water it...and this week I had to break down and spray it with a fungicide as it has some black spot on the leaves. I've really opened it up at the base so hopefully the black spot will cease.

I'm linking up with Kathy's Quilts today and I'll link up with Super Mom - No Cape on Monday... now off to get my roast in the oven for dinner.

happy stitching-
carol fun

  1. Love all your "potential" projects; it would be very hard to choose. I'm especially drawn to the Jeanette Douglas--love the lay out. I'm trying to remember if I bought this recently...but am afraid if I did, it's been packed!!!
    Have a great week!

  3. That rose bush is so impressive, just beautiful! With that collection, you just can't go wrong with any that you choose. I love the one you are just finishing. I bought the little charts. I'm thinking that might be my next project. Any advice on the border?

  7. Your samplers are lovely. Would you be interested in any floss, pattern books, etc. left over from my long-ago stitching days? My hands can't handle hand stitching any more, and I'll never use the threads etc. that I have left, so if you're interested. let me know.
