Like I said yesterday...it snowed... which is a nice complement to my indoor snowman decor. I've been collecting snowmen since 1990... the year we moved to Modesto California ...and there was no snow...anywhere. I was homesick for Ohio and they made me happy. Now lots of you have seen all this stuff before... although there is something new at the end. And this post is purely for my own enjoyment and information as next year when I drag this stuff out I'll be able to remember what I put where.
Good view of the living room...quilts...tree with snowman ornaments... disembodied snowmen heads..3 tier galvanized tray (more detail on this at the end of the post.
My snowman laden book case...
Love these Jim Shore snow ladies and the Lizzie Kate Winter Alphabet...one of my favorite samplers!
Overflow snowman display... ones I didn't find anywhere else to put... looks a bit skimpy...oh goodie I can collect more...LOL!
My FAVORITE piece of furniture in my house... 2 tier table I picked up for $15 at a thrift store in Greensburg, Indiana...I spent 3 times that much for the paint and glaze but I LOVE it. Millions...okay maybe not millions... of beady eyed little snowmen...most from Hallmark. Picked up that vase of tulips at Krogers, they are suppose to bloom yellow and red. Fingers crossed.
And finally the new piece I added ... a 3 tier galvanized tray decorated for winter. I feel in love with this tray on Priscillas blog...check her out here.
I lucked out with the greenery. I hit Micheals and all their Christmas stuff was 80% off. I scored those icy berries and the greenery for pennies...okay, truthfully a few bucks...but I saved like $62 on the purchase...kaching!
So I hope you enjoyed this tour of winter decor. If you didn't that's okay too. I've just saved myself hours of trying to figure out what I put where next year.
Stay warm...
carol fun
It's all beautiful, you've got lots of great things!
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I love snowman and enjoy mine every winter after all the Christmas decos are put away. So I love seeing other folk's collections and how they display them. Very nice! Love that two tier pie crust table - great color!
ReplyDeleteI loved the post. You have a wonderful collection of snowmen. The wall quilt is beautiful too. I take pictures of every holiday before I take the decorations down. The next year, I just have to putt the pictures up on the computer. I think it saves time and effort.
ReplyDeleteLove the top hat on the top of your tree - fabulous. I wish I had thought to take pictures of my displays. Oh wait, maybe I did and they are already on the blog, I'll have to go look. You have a great snowman collection - too fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the snowmen decor
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely display. Thankyou for sharing this with us. I too have a small collection of snowmen. Happy Stitching.
ReplyDeleteAdorable snow people! Love those little ones especially..great savings @ Michaels..hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to document your displays by photographing!!!
ReplyDeleteThat tree idea is so cute! No snow where I live so no snowmen--my January decor is black bears, pine cones and plaid quilts, mixed with some white linen. Your frilly tray table is gorgeous as is all your stitchery. What fun to switch out your Christmas things for cute snowmen
ReplyDeleteYou are killing me...I have a fetish for snowmen and so enjoyed yours.
ReplyDeleteSweet...I just realized this year that I sort of had a snowman collection started...I think I need to expand mine also! Always love seeing how you decorated. Love the tiered galvanized trays and the yellow table. A good way to embrace the rest of winter.
ReplyDeletegreat collection and such cute displays!!
ReplyDeleteLoved all your snowmen displays. I've only got 2 snowmen - one stands in front of the kitchen window and waves it's arms when the sun/light is bright - the other has all it's limbs joined together by string and when you push the base it relaxes and goes floppy (can't remember what you call these type of toys) so the next time I push it I'll think of you :)
ReplyDeleteJanuary us a perfect month to decorate with snow folk!
