Hello all - it was a busy busy busy week... something going every day ... and combined with the 90 degree temperatures and nearly 90 percent humidity I am pooped! Which leads to this short and sweet post today... also I have had a devil of a time getting any pictures to load... somehow I messed up my email and I've had to change my password 3 times... arghh... it's making me crazy!
So, I got my FQ bundle of Tiny Christmas by Lizzy House... and I've decided to do the Fat Quarter Cubes pattern ... but I haven't gotten any further than that.
I got all the patriotic stuff put away...oh wait I forgot the wreath on the front storm door... and Nick has hauled out quilts and decor for me to put out chicken and garden stuff ... but I haven't gotten any further than that.
I pulled out the pretty turquoise sock project I was working on ... here's the 2nd sock...but I haven't gotten any further than that.
Do we see a pattern emerging? Next week should be a little quieter and I have big plans to get all the decor stuff done and get started on the Tiny Christmas quilt ... but I may be delusional from the heat... LOL
My biggest accomplishment for the week is the progress I made on the Noel Sampler by With thy Needle & Thread... what it looked like last week... all sad and wrinkly...
and where it stands today... I'm so happy with my progress I even ironed it ...LOL
I was determined to finish the house... and it is done!! Walls, windows, roof, door and brick siding... all complete...
I feel like this puts me more than halfway done... the bottom half is more open ... two reindeer and a basket of flowers ...some assorted motifs and the end of the alphabet...
Now I would love to have this finished by the end of July... which is what 5 days away including today... probably not doable but I'm going to try and get as much done as I possibly can. I should be able to give it a nice amount of attention today and tomorrow... and closing in on finishing this is a motivator...
Next week has one doctor's appointment, two workout sessions with Anna, one lunch engagement and a day with Elliott ...oh and the blinds cleaning ... I rescheduled it to this week because I couldn't squeeze it in on last Thursday after all.
Forecast is more of the same... HOT HUMID and HORRIBLE... I'll take any pop up shower that comes my way. I've been using the drip irrigation and the sprinkler system daily, along with going out and watering the window boxes and the pots and the raised beds... the automatic watering helps a lot but even so I come in from outside and I'm soaked to the skin with sweat... I do not glow... I sweat like a longshoreman... arghh...
I'll link up with Kathy's Quilts today.... want to read some blogs, cross stitch and do a little decorating... Nick is fixing dinner for us and I don't think we'll leave the house at all... well, maybe we'll go get ice cream. My favorite ice cream place, Graeter's, has my favorite flavor, Key Lime Pie and it is only available in August and they usually run out before the month is over... a scoop of that would be lovely on this hot and humid day... oh carp... I just realized it isn't August yet... well I told you I was tired and crazy and it shows!
Hope your week ahead is a good one... from the weather channels I've been watching I think everyone is is for another HOT HOT week... stay hydrated!!
happy stitching-
carol fun

Your sampler is looking great! It is always nice to get the biggest part of a stitch done. We are hot and humid her in the Pittsburgh area too. It should be cooling off by the end of the week. I am not ready for Fall but I am ready for cooler temps. I just changed out my cross stitch and quilting runners, pillows and quilts from patriotic to bees and strawberries mostly. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's cold and rainy here today in my part of paradise. I'm home feeling sorry for myself with Gemma on my lap, felt decidedly unwell this morning. But after a nap I'm feeling much better, with a cup of tea and blogs to read. And I might get a bit of sock knitting in too, once Gemma departs from lap.
