Have you seen the Another Year of Schnibbles on Pink Pincushion and A Quilting Life? This month they are doing the Little Bites pattern Whit which uses 2 1/2" squares. I decided I wanted to use some Halloween fabrics and here is what I have so far.
There are 60 different Halloween fabrics most of which I fussy cut... yes I am nuts...and I am soooo good at making a project as complicated as it possibly can be - LOL!
Here is a close-up of some of my favorites - bats and candy corn and spiders and spider webs and that mummy make me smile!
Now for this project I cut into my special Halloween fabric that I've been saving for a very special project ... I have about 4 yards of this spider web fabric on yellow and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
This fabric was a gift from my BFF Stephie and I've been thinking for over a year about how to best use it and I think I've come up with a plan. I like making these flying geese but not this small - the ones for Whit will finish 1" X 2". I think flying geese that finish about 2 1/2" by 5" would be perfect... like these.
I have no business working on this project as I have several other projects that are half finished. Well, it will be in good company when it ends up in a plastic bin.
happy stitching-
carol fun
Those larger geese are perfect! Those Halloween eyeballs are a scream! Love this fabric, too. Where is it from?
ReplyDeleteLove this!! But I have to admit, those spiders kinda creep me out!
ReplyDeleteI like the larger pieces so you can see all the details in the fabric-just adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh how cute and oh what fun! Love it. I love fabrics like those too.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh, myyyyy! gorgeous! As for me, I think I'm creatively blocked. maybe, feeling a bit cluttered! :o
ReplyDeleteHow did this happen?
I love the fabric and colors! :0)
ReplyDeleteI read Carrie's post about how she came to make those teensy flying geese--it was a self-challenge using the candy precuts (?charms?). Your biggie size makes more sense! Live the fussy cutting. Only YOU would have yellow spiderweb fabric, lol.
ReplyDeleteOh My....very ghoulish start!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I love the fussy cut pieces... well worth the effort and time!
